Comparative Study on the Protection of Minors in Electronic Media
in the CERF Countries

Doc
Comparative Study on the Protection of Minors in Electronic Media in the CERF Countries is the outcome of the comparative research project on the systems of protection of minors in audiovisual media in countries that are members of Central European Regulatory Forum (CERF), .i.e. Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia, which was conducted by the Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission in 2015.

The study deals specifically with labelling systems for the protection of minors used in member countries by in-depth comparison of their various aspects. There are many instances of cross border provision of audiovisual services in CERF countries and one of the main functions of the CERF is to provide a functioning system for dealing with complaints of the viewers aimed at audiovisual services from other countries. As the majority of these complaints concern the protection of minors’ issues, the main goal of the study was to provide CERF members with information on how each member’s system for protection of minors works and what obligations it contains. The information gathered in the study, however, may potentially be of value to anyone with interest in protection of minors in electronic media. The study is therefore made available to general public for download. For a printed copy please contact us via email: office@rvr.sk.
